The food foresters were officially launched at the forest showcase in October 2012.
Our main aim is; ‘To practice the principles of agro-forestry, agro-ecology and permaculture in designing self sustaining ‘food forests’ in order to foster better horticultural and agricultural practices in the Forest of Dean’
Inspired by the work of Robert Hart, Michael Crawford and Sebb Holzer, we wish to build the capacity to create forest gardens both commercially and for community projects around the Forest of Dean.
We would like to use waste land in the forest to create sustainable models of forest gardens creating a network forest gardens for people to enjoy. The forest gardens will be place for people to learn about foraging food from the weird and wonderful species of plants, shrubs and trees.
